Privacy Policy
Effective October 16, 2026. Contact: hello@getwatchtonight.com.
WatchTonight ("we", "us") is building an app that helps you decide what to watch. This site is currently a pre-launch page. We collect very little, and this policy explains what and why.
What we collect
- Waitlist / newsletter email. If you sign up, we store your email address, signup date and the page you signed up from with our email provider Buttondown (buttondown.com), which processes it on our behalf.
- Technical logs. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, time) for security and debugging for a limited period.
- Cookies. This site sets no cookies and uses no advertising or third-party analytics. If that changes, we will update this page first.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or "share" your personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.
- We don't use your data to train AI models.
- We don't give your email to sponsors or advertisers.
Why we use it
To send the waitlist updates and newsletter you asked for (consent) and to keep the site secure (legitimate interest).
Retention
We keep your email until you unsubscribe. After that we delete it, except a minimal suppression record so we don't email you again. Server logs are kept as our host retains them.
Your rights
Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. You can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your data by emailing hello@getwatchtonight.com. Depending on where you live (for example California, the EU or the UK), you may have additional rights, including the right to complain to a data-protection authority. We won't discriminate against you for using them.
Children
WatchTonight is not directed to children under 13 (16 in the EEA), and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Service providers
Vercel (hosting) and Buttondown (email). Both are based in the United States. When the app launches, this policy will be updated before any new data is collected.
Changes
We'll post changes here and update the effective date. Material changes will be announced by email to subscribers.
